Match Report
Just when you didn’t your night couldn’t get any better after our last post, here we are again ! Instead of training last night we played another friendly match, this time against Warriors Football Association Championship side FC 82 Much . It was great to see some old faces. An absolute belter of a match for the record breaking crowd that came to support the lads. The Corner went 2 up through goals from JD and Tony. The visitors changed things round about and came more into the game, levelling the score just as quickly as we had went 2 up. Another all change bar a couple of people at HT for the corner saw a change in shape and we began to dictate the match a bit more but were caught out from some great pressing from the front and a good through ball to put the visitors 4-2 up. End of the story ? Not a chance, we stuck to our jobs and it wasn’t long before we clawed one back through Dan getting his 2nd goal in as many games.
80th min -It happened, the one, the only (thank fuck) JP made a cracking run, down the right, then made his way into the box, went past 2 defenders, then curled the ball into the top bin. JP then was booked for going “Taps Aff” then subbed himself off because he was knackered after running too fast in his celebration, his words not mine.
So we subbed Tony back on for the knackered JP who bagged another goal this time with that wand of a left peg leaving the keeper with no chance.
Chrissy lept like a salmon to bury a header from a corner to finish the scoring.
Topper of a game, 2 teams trying to play good football. Best of luck to Coop, Andy and the rest of the boys at 82 for the forthcoming season.
MOTM will not come as a shock to anyone who watched the match, Ryan Kane, now known as Rhyno thanks to JP. Ryan has came on leaps and bounds over the last few months and we are hellova proud of him.
