The Beginning
On the 6th of August 2025, Fir Park Corner Fat2Fit held its very first training session in Overtown. The mission was simple: get local men back into playing the game they love within a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment. 14 guys took a gamble and showed up.
Fast forward to August 2026
What started as a kickabout has evolved into a vital community lifeline. We now proudly support 45 men on their wellbeing journeys. Whether they are training for physical fitness, mental health, or—as is most often the case—both, we’ve proven that physical and mental strength go hand in hand. Best of all? Out of those original 14 trailblazers, 12 are still an active part of the group today.
Looking Forward
The club has truly grown arms and legs in the best way possible. We have just kicked off our debut season in the Warriors Football Association, but our ambitions don’t stop there.
Going Global: This coming May, the boys will be competing in a televised international tournament.
Pre-Season Dreams: We are currently drawing up plans to take the squad abroad for a European pre-season adventure next summer.
Beyond the goals and the pitch, our success is built on the incredible relationships we’ve forged off it. We are incredibly grateful to the local businesses that stand by us, helping us become the best versions of ourselves with:

- Post-match hospitality to foster that crucial changing-room camaraderie.
More importantly, we are committed to looking out for one another. We have recently partnered with Chris’s House, a phenomenal mental health charity. They will be working closely with club volunteers, upskilling them to comfortably initiate and handle difficult conversations around mental health. We also continue to proudly champion Team Jak, an incredible charity supporting young children and their families through the battles of cancer.
The last year has been nothing short of incredible. What started as a simple idea in Overtown has become a brotherhood. I can’t wait to see what else this group of men will achieve going forward—both on the pitch and, more importantly, off it.
