Team Jak is a Scottish children’s charity created to fulfill the inspiring vision of 15-year-old Jak Trueman, who passed away from a rare cancer in 2015. The organization provides comprehensive emotional, practical, and social support to children and young people up to age 25 who are living with cancer or related illnesses, as well as their families, friends, and the bereaved. At the heart of their work are Jak’s Dens—safe, non-clinical spaces in locations across Scotland, alongside pop-up hubs and hospital outreach—where families can escape the stresses of medical treatment through music therapy, counseling, peer support groups, and family fun activities designed to “create smiles and ease the journey”.
